Being an ardent fan of the classical arts I was incredibly excited to lend my hand lettering talents to the poster for the Opera Southwest production of Georges Bizet's "The Pearl Fishers." It was a pleasure to work and collaborate with the talented Soprano Shana Blake Hill and photographer Michael Calas for this project. For more information you can visit Opera Southwest at their website: www.operasouthwest.org.

This hand-lettered piece was the second commission for Opera Southwest. This custom title was created for the opera Amleto, based upon Shakespeare's play Hamlet.
This opera has not been performed since its revival for the La Scala production in 1871, and it was believed that would be the last as vast portions of the original score were lost to history. In recent years however, portions of that original score and libretto have resurfaced and through a dedicated effort a critical edition has been recreated by the talented conductor Anthony Barrese which will be presented by Opera Southwest in October of 2014. It is truly an honor to be a part of bringing back such an incredible piece of opera history not seen by the public since 1871.
